As the seasons change, so do our preferences for activities. For those who enjoy fun activites while in littlespace, (let's be real, who doesn't), there are numerous delightful activities perfectly suited for the season. Let's dive into some heartwarming suggestions that will help you embrace the magic of littlespace during this time of the year.
1. Seasonal Crafting: Unleash your creativity with seasonal crafts that bring out the child in you. When I was young, I remember making tons of paper snowflakes, painting my own ornaments, making hand-reindeer, and stringing together fun garlands for around the house or to put on the Christmas tree! Any of these are a wonderful outlet for self-expression and imagination.
2. Winter Wonderland Movie Marathon: Cozy up with your favorite blankie and indulge in a movie marathon filled with beloved animated classics or heartwarming family films. Some of my personal favorites for the season are Elf, Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and of course How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I am however, a tiny bit obsessed with the How to Train Your Dragon movies and my daddy recently surprised me with an early present of this pack of Dreamworks Holiday Movie Collection! They're actually sooo cute and I have them on replay while I work through the day. My puppy is probably sick of them.
3. Baking Festive Treats: Get into the spirit of the season by baking delicious treats. Whether it's gingerbread cookies, peppermint cupcakes, or snowman-shaped snacks, the aroma of baking will fill your space with warmth and joy. I'm personally planning on building an oreo house, not a gingerbread house and I've 100% eaten more of the candy than I should I have....I haven't even started building yet. Next week I'm thinking fun sugar cookies that I will frost in tons of different colors and sprinkles!
4. Winter-themed Coloring Books: Channel your inner artist with winter-themed coloring books. Engaging in this simple yet therapeutic activity can be a delightful way to unwind and tap into the carefree spirit of littlespace. Find different ways to color them in too! Crayons, colored pencils, paint markers, watercolor, finger painting, annnndddd glitter!!!
5. Snow Playtime: If the season allows, embrace the outdoors for some snow playtime. Build snowmen, create snow angels, or engage in a friendly snowball fight. The crisp winter air and soft snow underfoot can evoke a sense of wonder and playfulness.
Extra brat points: Plan a snowball attack on your CG when they get home one day or if they're outside doing big stuff. Beware of the consequences though!
6. Seasonal Storytime: Rediscover the joy of storytelling by diving into festive and whimsical tales. Gather all of your stuffies together with you on the bed or couch and make sure they're tucked in, nice and cozy. Then, whether it's reading a favorite childhood book or exploring new seasonal stories, let your imagination run wild as you immerse yourself in the magic of words. If you need a book idea, I vote you add Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Sleigh to your book collection. PS. Stuffies are fantastic listeners.
7. Soft and Cozy Pajama Days: Declare a cozy pajama day where comfort takes precedence. Whether you spend it watching cartoons, cuddling with stuffies, enjoying hot cocoa, or doing every single one of those, embracing a day of relaxation can be a rejuvenating experience. To make it even more magical, set up a blanket fort and fill it with all of the things you love! It makes the perfect hang out spot for all these fun things.
8. Festive Puzzles and Games: Challenge your mind with festive puzzles and games. Whether it's a holiday-themed jigsaw puzzle or a board game with friends, these activities provide a perfect blend of entertainment and mental stimulation.
Embracing littlespace during the season opens up a world of joyful activities that celebrate innocence, wonder, and creativity. Whether you choose to engage in crafting, baking, or simply relishing the magic of winter through movies and stories, the key is to allow yourself to fully immerse in the moment and rediscover the simple pleasures that bring warmth to the heart. I hope you have the absolute best holiday season.
